Gifted and talented parent information session

Part of our school’s strategic directions for 2019 is to provide meaningful learning opportunities for gifted and talented students across K-6. We are implementing new identification procedures, personalised learning plans, pull-out programs and extra-curricular groups to ensure all students are having their educational and socioemotional needs met. We would like to invite parents and caregivers to attend a gifted and talented parent information session to learn about giftedness and talent, identification procedures and the strategies being used to support gifted students at school. We will be learning about: the characteristics of gifted students effective identification strategies common issues faced by gifted students and how to support them programs and policies being implemented by Vardys Road Public School, including tournament of the minds If you would like to attend the gifted and talented parent information session please complete the registration form using the RSVP link.

Year 3 swim scheme

Vardys Road students will be participating in a Swim Scheme Program in 2019. Year 3 students who are not involved in a Winter PSSA team are invited to take part in the 8-week program during Term 3, commencing on Friday 26th July. Each session will be for 45 minutes and will run weekly on Fridays at Coulter Swimming in Northmead. Coulter Swimming has over thirty years experience teaching learn to swim programs to children of all ages and abilities. Their program teaches learn to swim skills as well as rescue and survival skills. Qualified learn to swim instructors will deliver the swim scheme. Places are limited to 50 Year 3 students. Please complete and return the permission slip and grading form attached to the office with payment by 5/6/2019.
