Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A Year at our School

Annual GRIP Student Leadership Conference
Vardys Road Public School Prefects have the valuable opportunity to attend the GRIP Student Leadership Conference, and this year’s event was once again a highlight.
The conference focuses on the idea that leadership is about service, not status, an important message that truly resonated with our student leaders. They also explore practical ways to generate and implement ideas that can make a positive impact within our school community.
Our Prefects leave the day inspired and full of enthusiasm, and they’re always excited to put their new ideas into action throughout the year.

100 Days of Kindy!
Each year, Kindergarten celebrates a special milestone, the 100th Day of School! .
The children are invited to dress up for the day, and they don't disappoint!
We have seen little old men and women, shirts with "100 days sprinkled with fun," and students proudly "shining for 100 days." The creativity and effort is truly heart-warming.
Throughout the day, students engage in a variety of fun and educational activities focused on the number 100. From reading stories and creating art, to completing STEM challenges and rotation stations filled with counting and movement, the learning is hands-on and exciting.
A highlight is always seeing what the students might look like at 100 years old, followed by writing about what they hope to be doing at that age.
The 100th Day of School continues to be a joyful and memorable tradition for our Kindergarten students, it is a celebration of how far they’ve come in just 100 days of learning!

Annual ‘The Gathering’ Indigenous Art Collaboration
Student recognised as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander are a part of the Aboriginal Education Consultancy Group and proudly join with local schools to take part in The Gathering—a collaborative Indigenous art project.
This powerful annual event brings students together to create a shared artwork that reflects themes of culture, Country, and connection to land. Using our school colours—blue, yellow, and white—students express their identity and heritage through meaningful artistic contributions.
The Gathering continues to be a highlight on our cultural calendar, strengthening students' sense of belonging and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage across the wider school community.

Year 4 Annual Sleepover
Each year, our Year 4 students look forward to a fun-filled evening at the Year 4 Sleepover!
Held in the School Hall, the sleepover offers a wonderful opportunity for students to build confidence, develop independence, and prepare for the Stage 3 camp. The night is packed with excitement, including fun games, a movie session, and of course, plenty of popcorn!
Student arrive well-fed and ready for a night of laughter and connection with their friends. The hall is full of joy as they play, bond, and settle in for a cosy night together!
